Privacy Policy

MerryWrap is a puzzle advent calendar for iPhone and Android. It is an Apps That Help product, a brand of Decal Venue, Inc. This policy explains exactly what MerryWrap does and does not do with information. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and your progress lives on your own device. The only thing the app sends us is a handful of anonymous counts, described below.

No accounts

MerryWrap has no sign-up and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and the app has no way to collect them.

What stays on your device

Your solved doors, gift tags, streak, settings and Elf Mail are saved on your phone only. Your phone may include this app data in its own device backup (iCloud or Google), which is controlled by you and your device settings, not by us. Deleting the app deletes this data from the phone.

Purchases

Calendars are bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles payment; we never see your card or billing details. To confirm which calendars you own, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase service that works on our behalf. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created on your device (not linked to your name or email) and the record of your purchases. It uses this to unlock what you bought, to restore purchases on a new device, and to give us overall sales totals. It is not shared with anyone else.

What the app asks our server for

The app contacts www.merrywrap.app for today's date and game settings, for the Help page text, and for each day's Elf Mail note. These requests send no information about you, only the date being asked about. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard technical request logs, such as IP address, for a short time for security and reliability. We do not use them to identify or track anyone.

Anonymous usage counts

From version 1.0.1, the app sends our server a few counts so we can tell whether MerryWrap is being used and which parts matter: how many times the app was opened, how many doors, Workshop boards and sample boards were solved, how many gift tags were found, how many share cards were made, how many times the unlock screen was seen, and whether the daily reminder was turned on. Each count travels with the same random purchase identifier described above, the platform (iPhone or Android), the app version, and whether a calendar is owned. Our server also notes the approximate location (country and city) that our hosting provider derives from the request, and never stores the IP address itself. Nothing in these counts can identify you: no name, no email, no device serial, no advertising identifier, and none of your puzzle progress, gift tags or Elf Mail. We do not share these counts with anyone and do not use them for advertising.

Notifications

The daily December reminder is off until you turn it on. Reminders are scheduled on your phone itself; no push service or account is involved. You can turn them off in the app or in your phone's settings.

Sharing and contact

A share card is made on your phone and only goes where you choose to send it. When you tap Contact us, your own email app opens with a support code filled in; we only receive the email you choose to send.

No ads, no tracking

MerryWrap shows no ads, uses no advertising identifier, and contains no third-party analytics or tracking tools. The anonymous counts above go only to our own server. We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect it.

Children

MerryWrap is a family-friendly puzzle game. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, because it has no accounts and asks for no personal details.

Your choices

You can delete your MerryWrap data at any time by deleting the app. To ask us to delete the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat and the usage counts tied to the same identifier, tap Contact us in the More tab; the email it opens includes your support code so we can find them. Purchases themselves are managed in your Apple or Google account.

Where data is kept

Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat, the anonymous usage counts are kept in our own database at Cloudflare, and our website is hosted by Vercel, all in the United States.
