MerryList
Your Christmas card list, checked twice. Track who you send cards to and who sends one back, with no account and nothing to lose.
Every December the same paper list comes out of the drawer, a little more crossed-out than last year. Who did we send to? Who sent one back? Did the Garcias move? MerryList replaces that list with something that fits in your pocket and never gets lost: add everyone you send cards to, tap once when your card goes out, tap again when theirs arrives, and see at a glance who is done and who still needs a card.
It is deliberately simple. No account to create, no sync to break, no cloud copy of your friends’ addresses. Your list lives on your phone and stays there. The free app covers unlimited people, sent and received checkmarks, Contacts import, and notes for this year’s list. MerryList Pro is a one-time $4.99 that adds year-over-year history, the list of who did not send one back, Avery 5160 label printing, #10 envelope printing with your return address, and CSV export any time. Out now on Google Play, with the App Store release coming soon, well before card season.
What it does
Two taps per person
Sent and Received, each a big satisfying checkmark. The progress header shows exactly where you stand: 18 of 42 sent, 12 received, and who is still waiting.
Import from Contacts
Pull names and mailing addresses straight from your phone instead of typing them, then add household names and notes like “new baby” or “moved in June.”
History that carries over
Pro keeps every year. See who sent three years running, who quietly dropped off, and who sent one you missed, so next year’s list writes itself.
Labels and envelopes, printed
Pro generates Avery 5160 label sheets and #10 envelopes with your return address, right from the app, for everyone not yet marked sent.
Private by design
No account, no login, no server holding your list. It stays on your device and rides along in your normal phone backup. CSV export is your manual copy whenever you want one.
Who it is for
- Anyone who keeps a paper Christmas card list and loses it every other year
- Families with a big list who want to know who still needs a card before the mailing deadline
- People who would rather not hand their friends’ addresses to another cloud account
Frequently asked questions
When is MerryList available?
MerryList is out now on Google Play for Android. The iPhone version is in App Store review and coming soon, well ahead of card season. Check merrylist.app for the latest.
Do I need an account?
No. MerryList has no sign-in of any kind. Open the app and start adding people. Your list stays on your device and never leaves it.
What does Pro include?
A one-time $4.99 unlocks year-over-year history, the did-not-send-back list, Avery 5160 label printing, #10 envelope printing with your return address, and CSV export any time. No subscription.
What happens to my list next year?
When the new season starts, everyone carries over with the checkmarks cleared. Prior years are kept and unlock with Pro; nothing is ever deleted on rollover.
Does it sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not in this version. MerryList is built for one device on purpose, which is how it stays account-free and never loses an edit. Your list is included in your regular phone backup, and Pro adds CSV export as a manual copy.
